After newspapers, the oldest publishing products of mass media are centered around journals. Examining the subject it deals with in depth, offering a qualified reading opportunity to its readers with grammar, expression type, specialization, thematic fiction and visual opportunities, magazines are seen as products with a publishing approach that carefully preserves its place in terms of revealing the social, economic and political conditions of the period in which it was published, on the other hand, keeping up with technological developments rapidly. Today, many types of magazines such as literature, culture, art, economy, politics, sports, magazines and many others continue to be published.
In this context, the aim of this study is to make an evaluation of the phenomenon of magazine publishing, which has such a deep-rooted history and preserves its importance and place, from past to present; it aims both to master today's social and global conditions and to predict and make sense of the publishing understanding and social structure of the coming years. Interview technique was used in the related study.
The study was prepared as a result of an interview with Prof. Aslı Yapar Gönenç, a faculty member at Istanbul University Faculty of Communication.
Prof. Aslı Yapar Gönenç graduated from Saint Benoit French High School. She completed her undergraduate education at Istanbul University Faculty of Letters, Department of French Language and Literature, her master's degree at Istanbul University Institute of Social Sciences, Teaching Turkish to Foreigners Program, and her PhD at Istanbul University Institute of Social Sciences, Journalism Program. Since 1995, he has been working at Istanbul University Faculty of Communication. In 2004, he received the title of associate professor. Since 2010, he has been a professor. She has published books titled "The Phenomenon of Magazine Publishing in Turkey and France and Comparison of Women's Magazines", "On Magazine Publishing", "Turkish Pharmaceutical Sector and Magazine Publishing", "Philosophy and Media on the Basis of Language", "Digitalization and Magazine Publishing" and "Communication and Media", a translation book titled "Radio Techniques" and various articles and book chapters.
