PREMATÜR EJAKÜLASYON SORUNU OLAN VE OLMAYAN ERKEKLERİN ANKSİYETE VE DUYGUSAL ZEKA DÜZEYLERİNİN DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ

Abstract

Objectives: Aimed to compare the anxiety and emotional intelligence levels of patients with and without premature ejaculation problem who applied to the urology polyclinic at a Public Hospital. Methods: The cross-sectional descriptive study design was carried out. A total of 76 men, 37 of whom had premature ejaculation and 39 did not, volunteered to participate in the study. They were asked to respond Information Form, Revised Schutte Emotional Intelligence Scale and Beck Anxiety Scale. Results: The sample included men with and without primary premature ejaculation health problem. It was determined that the anxiety levels of all participants were low. In the study, the emotional intelligence levels of men with premature ejaculation problem were determined as 139.68±18.81, and 144.13±13.69 for those who without premature ejaculation problem. It was determined that there was no significant difference between the anxiety and emotional intelligence levels of men with and without premature ejaculation problem. It was understood that as the emotional intelligence levels of the participants and the evaluation of emotions increased, their anxiety levels would decrease. Discussion: The findings were discussed in the light of the literature. Conclusion: It has been proposed that further studies be conducted in the province where the research is conducted, which will take place in samples with a larger sample, primary and secondary premature ejaculation problems
