Abstract

The concept of social capital is an important concept that is examined in many fields of social sciences and used in understanding the social structure. The life of this concept, which is examined by sociology, economics, education and political scientists, is the subject of research on topics such as economic and social development, effectiveness in education, democracy and management, working life and organization. Organizations are not self-sufficient actors. They cannot create all the resources and conditions they need themselves. This situation forces organizations to enter into some relationships with other organizations outside themselves. On the basis of these relationships, organizations seek to provide the resources they need and create the conditions. Therefore, organizations can access resources that are critical for their sustainability on the basis of these relationships. Based on this, the main purpose of the study is to discuss the impact of resource dependence theory and the concept of social capital on organizations and their sustainability.
