INVESTIGATION OF THE REASONS FOR MASTER EDUCATION IN THE FIELD OF EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT MASTER'S PROGRAM

In this study, it was aimed to examine the reasons for school principals to do postgraduate education in the field of education management non-thesis master's program. In line with the stated purpose, the case study pattern, one of the qualitative research models, was used as a model in the research. The sample of the research consists of 24 school principals working in various schools in the 2022-2023 academic year with the criterion sampling method, which is one of the purposeful sampling types. In the research, the "Semi-Structured Interview Form" was used to determine the opinions of the school principals about the reasons for doing postgraduate education in the field of education administration non-thesis master's program in an in-depth and comprehensive way. The data collected through the "Semi-Structured Interview Form" of the research were analyzed by content analysis method.
In the research, it has been determined that taking a non-thesis master's education in education administration is preferred because it contributes to the personal development of school principals, provides school principals to update themselves, provides specialization in the field of school management, and increases proficiency in school management. In the research, it has been determined that taking a non-thesis master's education in education administration is preferred by school principals as it provides economic gain, contributes to the evaluation score in the manager appointment process, provides level progress and contributes to the process of getting the title of expert teacher. In addition, it was determined in the research that school principals stated that their non-thesis master's education in education administration contributed or would contribute to their personal and professional development. In addition, in the study, it was determined that school principals made suggestions to their colleagues about taking non-thesis master's education in education administration.
