Abstract

In this article, studies related to depression in gifted children and adolescents were brought together and studies involving related variables were examined in order to reduce the risk of depression in these individuals Dec Indeed, gifted in one or more areas of high potential individuals, can cause you to have unrealistic expectations and want the best results from them, and this can lead to depression. The fact that gifted children and adolescents have difficulty coping with the thought of failure when they cannot fulfill their expectations causes them to lose their inner motivation and this situation poses a risk of depressive symptoms in them. Studies conducted on this topic show that gifted children and adolescents also have high levels of depression. On the other hand, gifted adolescents have a negative opinion when they are unable to fulfill their expectations and may show depressive symptoms when they are unable to cope with this situation. However, it is important for gifted children and adolescents to reveal and use the high potential they have, both for themselves and for society. In this study, which has been prepared as a review, the research involving the variables predicting the depression levels of gifted adolescents has been Deconstructed and brought together. Therefore, this study programmes in gaining an idea about the preparation of preventive predictive variables for depression, depression in children and adolescents gifted and supportive programs emphasized the importance of increasing in children and adolescents by determining the needs of gifted support program for these individuals is important for the development of psikolojikdestek and highly skilled. The findings obtained as a result of the research are discussed within the framework of the literature.
