Tourism revenues in the world are one of the income items in the national income of countries. The tourism sector, which gives a serious impetus to the development of the states, provides significant gains to the state economy, especially in the solution of macroeconomic problems such as reducing foreign trade deficit, unemployment, fighting inflation, and supporting economic development, with the income obtained from foreign tourists, foreign currency earning and employment creation qualities. The aim of this study is to reveal the importance of the development of the tourism sector in terms of the country's economy by drawing attention to the change in the share of tourism income in national income from foreign tourists coming to our country over the years. In the study, the relationship between tourism revenues and economic growth for the period of 2012-2020 in Turkey was examined. As a result of this examination, it has been revealed that the share of tourism income in national income can be increased and the added value to be obtained from this sector can also increase by supporting and developing the tourism sector by other private and mixed sectors, especially public expenditures and policies.
