Özet

Language learning and teaching through movies has become a subject of frequent research in recent years. Since movies are interesting for students, researches are conducted and materials are prepared in many languages. The success of movies in teaching language has been proven in many studies. Since movies appeal to multiple senses, they are effective on students with different learning styles. However, we have few resources on films about teaching Turkish to foreigners. In recent years, Turkish has become a worldwide attraction through Turkish TV series and movies. Therefore, more studies are needed on Turkish films and their use in the classroom. It is necessary to select movies that can be watched in the classroom and prepare activities for these movies. Turkish lessons will be more effective, useful and fun through movies. In this study, this deficiency in the field of teaching Turkish to foreigners has been taken into consideration. 9 different speaking activities were prepared for the movie Hürkuş: Hero in the Sky. The activities were organized as before, during and after the movie. It is thought that with these activities, students will develop their speaking skills more easily. How the activities should be implemented and which parts of the movie should be used are explained in the study. Although these activity suggestions are for speaking skills, they also require the use of other skills. While preparing the activity suggestions, other studies in the field were also examined.
