EXAMINATION OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN VISIONARY LEADERSHIP AND TEACHERS' MOTIVATION ACCORDING TO VARIOUS VARIABLES

Abstract

In this study, it was aimed to determine the relationship between the motivation of teachers and the visionary leadership behaviors of administrators working at various educational levels. In order to achieve the stated objectives, the relational survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used as a method in the research. The universe of the research consists of teachers working at various educational levels in the Iskenderun district of Hatay Province. The sample of the research is 322 volunteer teachers determined from the population by the "Easy Sampling" method. In the study, the "Visionary Leadership Scale" was used to determine the visionary leadership views of the school principals of the teachers and the "Motivation Scale" to determine the motivation of the teachers. Parametric tests were preferred in the data analysis process, since the data collected with the scales showed normal distribution. In the study, it was concluded that teachers' perceptions of visionary leadership and motivation were at the level of "Partly Agree". In addition, in the study, it was determined that there was a high level of positive correlation between teachers' visionary leadership and motivation perceptions. This result was explained as the increased motivation of the teachers as the visionary leadership behaviors exhibited by the school administrators in the school increased.
