ABSTRACT
Environmental security covers all the threats that will lead to environmental degradation. Ecological security, on the other hand, is a type of security that adopts the highest level of security to be taken for the continuation of the ecosystem. These two interconnected security algorithms are security studies that initiate the discussions that the dominant system in the world will have to make "sacrifices" for the health of nature.
The three elements of the concept of security are risk, danger and threat. Any negative situation against the situation that is wanted to be protected is a threat. Risk is the probability of being harmed. It describes the potential of harm to be experienced in the event of a security breach or disappearance. Hazard, on the other hand, describes an inconvenient, potential and inactive situation that does not provide safety, may lead to great harm to the working situation or cause it to disappear. The risks, threats and dangers of nuclear power plants (NPP) to environmental and ecological security have always been the focus of discussions.
Nuclear Power Plants have the potential to be open targets for terrorists or external attacks, inviting aircraft attacks, acts of sabotage, armed attacks, rocket attacks. NPPs are also nuclear weapons factories.
Untimely and boundless NPP accidents are a very comprehensive and multi-layered security problem, with the danger of threatening both the ecosystems and human communities of distant and near geographies, and the danger of destroying the right of future generations to live in a safe and healthy environment.
The Ukraine-Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), which has remained in a hot conflict zone with Russia's attempt to invade Ukraine, causes great fears in the world. The Zaporizhzhia NPP, which has been in the middle of hot conflicts for the first time in the world, is frequently featured in foreign news services as hot news. During the Yugoslavian civil war, the NPP, which was on the territory of Yugoslavia at the time, did not bear similar risks since it was not directly targeted in the hot conflicts.
In the article, the Zaporizhzhia NPP news in the print media between May 1, 2021 - May 01, 2022, will be scanned and content analysis will be made in the context of security and safety relationship.
