ÇOK BOYUTLU BİR AFET OLARAK ORMAN YANGINLARI: SOSYAL HİZMET PERSPEKTİFİNDEN BİR YAKLAŞIM

Bu çalışma, çok boyutlu bir afet olarak orman yangınlarını ve sosyal hizmet perspektifinden orman yangınlarının nasıl ele alındığını kavramsal bir çerçeve sunarak ele almaktadır. İklim değişikliği ile birlikte sıklığı ve şiddeti giderek artan orman yangınları, küresel bir afet haline dönüşmüştür. Akdeniz iklim kuşağında yer alması nedeniyle Türkiye, orman yangınları açısından riskli ülkeler arasındadır. Orman yangınları sonuçları bakımından bireyleri ve toplumu ilgilendiren çeşitli sorunlara neden olmaktadır. Literatürde orman yangınlarının neden olduğu psiko-sosyal sorunlar ile birlikte ekolojik yas, solastalji ve eko-anksiyete gibi yeni kavramlar ele alınmaya başlamıştır. Bu çalışmada sosyal hizmet mesleğinin temel prensiplerinden hareketle “çevresi içinde birey” anlayışı ile yeşil sosyal hizmet perspektifi temel alınarak orman yangınları ele alınmıştır. Ayrıca orman yangınlarına ilişkin sosyal hizmet müdahalesi mikro, mezzo ve makro düzeylerde bütüncül bir şekilde tartışılmıştır. Sonuç olarak bu çalışmada orman yangınlarının çevresel etkileri ile birlikte toplumsal eşitsizlikleri derinleştiren çok boyutlu bir doğal afet olduğu öne çıkmaktadır. Bu kapsamda orman yangınlarına yönelik geliştirilecek olan müdahale planlarında afetlerde sosyal hizmet yaklaşımının önemi ortaya koyulmaktadır.
