Özet

Bu çalışmada, Türkiye Yüzyılı Maarif Modeli doğrultusunda hazırlanan 6. sınıf Fen Bilimleri ders kitabındaki bölüm sonu istasyonu sorularının fen okuryazarlığı boyutları bakımından değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma, nitel araştırma yaklaşımı çerçevesinde doküman incelemesi deseniyle yürütülmüştür. Çalışmanın veri kaynağını, Millî Eğitim Bakanlığı tarafından yayımlanan 6. sınıf Fen Bilimleri ders kitabının 1. ve 2. kitaplarında bulunan bölüm sonu istasyonu soruları oluşturmaktadır. Veriler, betimsel içerik analizi yoluyla çözümlenmiş; sorular Chiappetta, Fillman ve Sethna’nın (1991) fen okuryazarlığı çerçevesinde yer alan boyutlara göre sınıflandırılmıştır. Bulgular, soruların en yoğun biçimde bilimsel bilgi olarak bilim boyutunda toplandığını göstermiştir. Bunu sırasıyla düşünme biçimi olarak bilim ve bilim-teknoloji-toplum-çevre etkileşimi olarak bilim boyutları izlemiş; araştırma ve keşfetme yolu olarak bilim boyutu ise en sınırlı temsil edilen boyut olmuştur. Bu sonuçlar, bölüm sonu istasyonu sorularının fen okuryazarlığının farklı boyutlarını içermekle birlikte, boyutlar arasında dengeli bir dağılım göstermediğini ortaya koymaktadır. Bu nedenle ders kitabındaki ölçme-değerlendirme sorularında özellikle araştırma ve keşfetme yolu olarak bilim ile bilim-teknoloji-toplum-çevre etkileşimi olarak bilim boyutlarını destekleyen soru yapılarına daha fazla yer verilmesi gerektiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
